Automatisch openen & mechaniek
Een Switchblade is een mes waarvan het lemmet automatisch uitspringt door druk op een knop, veer of schuifmechanisme. Dit kan zijn een zijdelingse release of een “out‐the‐front” (OTF) mechaniek. Deze automatische werking onderscheidt het van gewone vouwmessen of assist-open modellen.
Verschillende uitvoeringen (OTF, side-opening, assisted)
OTF (Out The Front): het blad komt recht uit de voorkant van het handvat naar buiten.
Side-opening automatic: het blad vouwt opzij uit zoals een traditioneel vouwmes, maar wordt automatisch uitgebracht.
Assisted opening varianten: dit zijn niet volledige automatische messen, maar ondersteunen het openen met een veer.
Handgreepmateriaal & ergonomie
De grepen zijn ontworpen voor grip, comfort en robuustheid. Materialen zoals G10, aluminium, roestvrij staal of versterkt kunststof worden gebruikt. Sommige modellen bieden textuur, grippatronen of vingeruitsparingen voor betere hanteerbaarheid, zelfs in vochtige omstandigheden.
